James William McInnis, III, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Hospice Savannah.
He was born October 10, 1950 in Savannah, GA. He graduated from Savannah High School in 1968 and attended Georgia Southern for four years. He then played lead trumpet for the Holiday on Ice Show for 10 years. He played in Lake Tahoe, Reno, and Las Vegas for 3 years before settling in Florida playing with Circus World for six years. He also played with the Letterman and the Guy Lombardo Band along with numerous other bands during his career. He wrote music for Tupperware before working sixteen years as a computer technician for the State of Florida. He loved riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Hull Memorial Presbyterian Church.
His father James William McInnis, Jr. preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother Shirley McInnis, brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Christi McInnis, and two nephews, Johnny and Justin McInnis, all of Savannah.
A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors with the family receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
